The two major natural gas companies will supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to China under separately signed agreements.
Energy giant Petronas will deliver three shipments of carbon-neutral LNG from its Bintulu LNG plant in Indonesia.
The Chinese company Shenergy will receive the goods in Shanghai from October 2021 to March 2022.
Shamsairi Ibrahim, Vice President of Marketing and Trading of PETRONAS LNG, said: “PETRONAS is proud to enhance our 15-year partnership with Shenergy, which now includes the supply of carbon neutral LNG.
In addition, Qatar Petroleum Company (QP) will deliver a batch of LNG to a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) within 15 years.
Commenting on the transaction, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and QP President and CEO, said: “We are very pleased to further consolidate our strong relationship agreement with CNOOC through the singing of this new long-term LNG supply.”
