LPG Cylinder Prices: On the first day of 2022, the government has given Rs 102.50 relief to the people on the price of LPG cylinders.Prices for 19kg LPG cylinders have been reduced.The new prices are effective from January 1, 2022.After the price cut, the new rate for a 19kg cylinder in New Delhi is Rs 1,998.50.
However, domestic gas cylinder prices have not changed.Earlier, on December 1, 2021, the price of 19kg gas cylinders was increased by Rs 100.After that, the price in Delhi rose to Rs 2101.Before that, on November 1, the price of commercial gas cylinders rose by Rs 266, after which the price reached Rs 2,000.50.
This is the most expensive rate for a 19kg cylinder after 2012-13.That year, the price of commercial gas cylinders had reached Rs 2,200.Today, the price of commercial gas cylinders has eased.But the prices of 14.2kg and 5kg cylinders remained unchanged.
The cost of a 19kg cylinder is Rs 1948.50 in Mumbai, Rs 2076 in Kolkata and Rs 2131 in Chennai.Until yesterday, the price was Rs 2,101 in Delhi, Rs 2,177 in Kolkata, Rs 2,051 in Mumbai and Rs 2,234.50 in Chennai.
There was no change in the price of 14kg cylinders.Domestic gas cylinder prices change on the first of every month.In addition to this, oil companies also lower or raise prices mid-month if needed.
Preparations are now being made to provide subsidies for LPG cooking gas only to the economically weaker.According to sources, the government is preparing to issue new LPG LPG subsidy guidelines.This may be announced in the budget submission in February.After this, the LPG LPG subsidy will only be offered to those from the weaker economic class.
In addition to this, under these new guidelines, the government proposes that oil companies will bear the burden of sudden price increases.Oil companies such as HPCL, BPCL and IOC will also cover losses if prices fall.Currently, the difference between the market price and the actual price is around Rs 250.At the same time, the government is also preparing to slash LPG subsidies in the budget.To this end, the Ministry of Petroleum has prepared a proposal on subsidies.Under this, the oil ministry has talked about providing only Rs 6,000 crore in subsidies.The government has allocated a subsidy of Rs 14,073 crore for fiscal 2022.
